To enhance the feeling of action and urgency, a keyword will be cut off at the edges, as though there is so much happening so fast that it can’t be contained on the page.

01

Golden rule

Only one word can be used per layout. The word must be legible in lowercase and contain no more than seven letters. The word can only be cut at its bottom, and no more than 40% of the word will be cut.

02

For print use

The power words will always be located at the edge of the page (left, right, or bottom—never on top). For print materials, the power word should occupy between 10% and 20% of the page.

03

For digital use

For online uses such as web banners and social media, the power words should not occupy more than 25% of the layout.

The words selected to be cut should amplify key brand attributes such as vision, focus, ideas, future, and action.

04

Application of the Power Words

The power words can be in PSEG Orange, Dark Steel Gray, Platinum Gray, or reversed white over images where you can see a clear contrast—whatever creates the most action.
